New allegations have emerged in the case involving D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, as prosecutors presented additional claims during a recent court hearing tied to the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
During a status hearing held on April 23 in Los Angeles, prosecutors stated that Burke’s iPhone contained what they described as a “significant amount” of child pornography. According to reports, investigators found “a ton” of such material on the device, although it remains unclear whether any of the content is directly connected to the victim in the case.
The hearing was part of ongoing proceedings ahead of a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 1. Burke, 21, has been charged with the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez and is currently being held as the case moves forward.
Prosecutors also revealed that a wiretap had been used as part of the investigation last year, indicating the scope and depth of the inquiry conducted by law enforcement.
During the hearing, Burke’s defense team argued that prosecutors had not yet turned over key evidence. In response, L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman explained that delays were due in part to the involvement of three separate investigative grand juries. Transcripts from those proceedings are expected to be made available at a later stage.
Burke has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In addition to the murder charge, documents obtained by The New York Post allege that Burke may have committed continuous sexual abuse involving multiple acts of “substantial sexual conduct” with the victim, who was reportedly as young as 12 years old at the time of the alleged offenses.
The case has drawn significant attention due to both the severity of the allegations and Burke’s public profile as a recording artist.
If convicted, Burke could face severe penalties, including the possibility of the death penalty under California law.
The investigation remains ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the case proceeds through the legal system.
