Rosé is pulling back the curtain on one of pop music’s most closely watched relationships — the bond between the four members of BLACKPINK.
The 28-year-old global superstar sat down with Alex Cooper for the latest episode of Call Her Daddy, offering a rare, thoughtful look at what connects her to Lisa, Jisoo, and Jennie beyond the stage lights and stadium crowds.
“We’re best friends. We are sisters. We’re like family. We’re colleagues….what else could you say? What else is on the table?” Rosé shared.
It’s a relationship that fans have long speculated about, often projecting narratives shaped by fame, distance, and relentless schedules. But Rosé was clear: their bond is layered, evolving, and deeply rooted in shared experience.
“It’s really all of that combined,” she explained. “I do agree that it is a very unique relationship that we have, but over time, more layers have been added on to the type of relationship we have, but even more so, I think it feels more solid.”
That solidity was tested during a year when the group spent significant time apart, each pursuing individual projects across the globe.
“As I’ve actually had that one year apart from the girls, which we were very much apart — everyone was so busy flying around the world, like we couldn’t tell who was where,” Rosé said. “We’ve also created unique experiences outside of BLACKPINK after sharing all of that together and growing together.”
Those separate journeys, she explained, only strengthened what they share.
“We all went out and experienced the world individually past that. But to come back with those experiences, there’s nothing better to feel like there’s somebody that understands exactly how you might have felt or what you feel.”
For Rosé, the connection goes beyond friendship — it’s about being understood in ways even family sometimes can’t.
“It is a unique experience, as everyone has their own…even my actual family doesn’t understand what I feel sometimes…there are so much in my life that BLACKPINK understands,” she added.
The conversation underscored something fans have sensed for years: BLACKPINK’s chemistry isn’t manufactured. It’s forged through shared pressure, ambition, and global scrutiny — a bond that can’t be replicated outside the group. Fame may have expanded their worlds, but it hasn’t diluted the connection that made BLACKPINK what it is.
