Stephen Colletti is officially a dad.
The Laguna Beach alum and former One Tree Hill star announced on Thursday, May 14, that he and wife Alex Weaver have welcomed their first child together.
The couple revealed the exciting news through Instagram, sharing a sweet black-and-white photo holding their newborn son’s tiny hand. They also confirmed the baby’s name: Rhodes August.
Almost immediately after the announcement went live, friends, fans, and former co-stars flooded the comments section with congratulations.
Stephen’s One Tree Hill co-star James Lafferty wrote, “That’s one lucky little human. Congratulations you two. Best news ever.”
Meanwhile, his The Traitors co-star Tara Lipinski added, “Yesssss!!!!!! Congratulations!”
The baby news marks a major new chapter for Colletti, who first became a household name in the mid-2000s during MTV’s Laguna Beach era before successfully transitioning into scripted television.
For longtime fans who essentially grew up watching Stephen on screen, the moment feels surprisingly emotional. Back during the height of Laguna Beach mania, Stephen became one of reality TV’s defining heartthrobs alongside castmates Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari. His relationships, friendships, and emotional storylines quickly became central to the cultural phenomenon surrounding the series.
Years later, he successfully reinvented himself as actor Chase Adams on One Tree Hill, earning an entirely new fanbase while distancing himself from reality television.
Now, fans are watching him step into perhaps his biggest role yet: fatherhood.
Stephen and Alex Weaver, a NASCAR reporter and television personality, first began dating in 2021. The relationship remained relatively low-key compared to many celebrity couples, though fans frequently praised how natural and grounded the two appeared together.
In 2023, the pair announced their engagement. Then, in October 2025, they officially tied the knot.
Just a few months later, they shared another life-changing update when Alex revealed she was pregnant in January.
Since then, the couple had occasionally shared glimpses into the pregnancy journey online, though both largely kept the experience private.
The arrival of baby Rhodes August now officially kicks off a completely new era for the couple.
The announcement also arrives during an ongoing wave of nostalgia surrounding early 2000s television culture.
Shows like Laguna Beach and One Tree Hill continue finding new audiences through streaming, while original fans remain deeply attached to the stars who helped define the era.
Stephen himself has embraced that nostalgia carefully over the years without becoming trapped by it. He’s continued acting, podcasting, and making public appearances while largely maintaining a quieter personal life away from constant Hollywood chaos.
Friends close to the couple have frequently described Stephen and Alex as deeply family-oriented, making the baby news feel especially fitting.
The couple has not yet shared additional details about Rhodes August’s birth, but fans are already eagerly waiting for more glimpses of the newborn.
Congratulations to the new parents.
