Sydney Sweeney is calling out a particular portion of her fanbase.
The 25-year-old Euphoria actress spoke her mind in a recent interview with GQ, talking about how some her fans reacted in a weird way to her nude scenes on the HBO hit show.
Her character Cassie had nude videos of her circulating around school in an episode. Since that particular episode aired, it seems her family has been receiving screenshots of the clip.
Those trolls apparently sought out her family members so they can sent those screenshots to them.
Sydney blasted the trolls, stating:
“It got to the point where they were tagging my family. My cousins don’t need that. It’s completely disgusting and unfair.
You have a character that goes through the scrutiny of being a sexualized person at school and then an audience that does the same thing.”
She declared that if the purpose was to shame her personally, they failed:
“I think its ridiculous. I’m an artist, I play characters. It makes me want to play characters that piss people off more.”
