Taylor Swift is not here for the rumors—or the double standards.

The 35-year-old global superstar recently made the rounds promoting her latest album The Life of a Showgirl, addressing everything from her rumored Super Bowl performance to speculation about her future in music after marrying NFL star Travis Kelce.

During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on October 6, Taylor finally put the Super Bowl chatter to rest.

“Jay-Z has always been very good to me, our teams are really close. They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about [it].’ And that’s not, like, an official offer or an official look or like a conference room conversation, more ‘How does she feel about it in general?’” Taylor explained.

She added that she’s not planning to take the stage anytime soon—at least, not while her fiancé is still playing.

“And we’re always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field. Like, that [game] is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous. I am, [for] the whole season, locked in on what that man is doing on the field,” she said.

“Can you imagine if he’s out there every single week, putting his life on the line, doing this very dangerous, very high pressure, high intensity sport, and I’m like [goofy voice], ‘I wonder what my choreo should be? I think we should do two verses of “Shake It Up,” into “Cruel Summer” would be great!’” she joked.

“This has nothing to do with Travis — he would love for me to do it. But I’m just too locked in,” Taylor concluded.

Taylor also spoke to Zane Lowe on Apple Music about the mixed reviews surrounding The Life of a Showgirl, making it clear she’s unbothered.

“I welcome the chaos. The rule of show business is if it’s the first week of my album release and you are saying either my name or my album title, you’re helping,” she said. “And art, I have a lot of respect for people’s subjective opinions on art. I’m not the art police.”

She added, “Oftentimes, an album is a really, really wild way to look at yourself. What you’re going through in your life is going to affect whether you relate to the music that I’m putting out at any given moment.”

And when BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills asked if marriage would make her stop making music, Taylor’s reaction was priceless.

“That’s a shockingly offensive thing to say,” she said flatly. “It’s not why people get married, so they can quit their job… they love to panic sometimes. It’s like, I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do, and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music.”

“That’s the coolest thing about Travis,” she added. “He’s so passionate about what he does that me being passionate about what I do, it connects us.”

So no—Taylor Swift isn’t retiring. She’s just living, loving, and doing what she’s always done best: turning life into lyrics.
