Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding is shaping up to be one of the biggest celebrity events in recent memory—at least if the growing number of reports and rumours surrounding the celebration prove accurate.

Since announcing their engagement in August 2025, the global pop superstar and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end have kept official details largely under wraps. That hasn’t stopped speculation from reaching a fever pitch as reports continue to emerge about everything from the possible venue and guest list to security measures and potential musical performances.

While neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed the plans, multiple outlets have reported that the couple’s wedding celebration could take place over Independence Day weekend in New York City.

Here’s a closer look at what’s been reported so far.

When could the wedding take place?

For months, fans believed Swift and Kelce would marry in Rhode Island. However, TMZ later reported that the couple had abandoned those plans after details about the proposed venue reportedly became public.

Attention has since shifted to New York.

According to reports published by The New York Times, permits were requested for a large-scale event at Madison Square Garden in early July. The reported plans include temporary street closures surrounding the arena between July 2 and July 4, prompting widespread speculation that the wedding festivities could span multiple days.

Neither Swift nor Kelce has confirmed those reports.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani added another layer to the speculation during a June 30 press conference when he was asked about the rumours.

“My recommendation to all New Yorkers is to stay inside and stay cool,” Mamdani said. “And if you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool.”

His comments stopped short of confirming the event but quickly fueled even more conversation online.

Photographs captured outside the venue have only added to the intrigue.

Paparazzi have documented workers unloading boxes reportedly labelled “Garden Party,” installing decorative drapery, and temporarily laying carpet near the arena’s entrance. Some reports have also claimed that an elaborate castle-like structure has been constructed inside the venue, though those claims remain unconfirmed.

What has been reported about the schedule?

Several media outlets have published reports outlining what the wedding weekend could look like.

According to CBS News, a rehearsal dinner for approximately 100 guests is expected to take place at the Infosys Theater inside Madison Square Garden on July 2, with attendees reportedly using a private underground entrance.

Page Six has also published what it describes as the planned timeline for the festivities.

According to the report, guests would begin arriving on July 3, followed by a cocktail hour on the sixth-floor concourse before the ceremony begins later that afternoon on the arena floor. The reception would reportedly continue into the early hours of the following morning.

None of those details have been independently confirmed by the couple.

Who is expected to attend?

Guest lists have also become the subject of intense speculation.

Reports suggest more than 1,000 people could attend the celebration.

According to NBC News, invitations were reportedly accompanied by non-disclosure agreements and individually watermarked materials designed to discourage leaks. Several outlets have also reported that guests will not be permitted to use mobile phones during the event.

As for who might be there, many names have surfaced.

Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates—including Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany—are widely expected to attend if the reported guest list proves accurate.

Swift’s inner circle has also featured prominently in speculation, with names including Selena Gomez, Abigail Anderson Berard, Gigi Hadid, Ashley Avignone, the Haim sisters, Zoë Kravitz, Emma Stone, Sabrina Carpenter, and Gracie Abrams frequently mentioned in reports.

Some outlets have also questioned whether Blake Lively or Karlie Kloss might make appearances, though no official guest list has been released.

Singer-songwriter Suki Waterhouse has publicly indicated she plans to attend, while several other rumoured guests have politely avoided confirming or denying their invitations.

Swift has previously joked about her approach to wedding invitations during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

“I’m so excited about it. I know it’s gonna be fun to plan. Because I think the only stressful weddings are ones where you have a small amount, and people are on the bubble,” Swift said. “And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them, to see if they should be there. I’m not gonna do that.”

She added with a laugh that “anyone I’ve ever talked to” would be invited.

What about the dress?

One question fans continue asking is what Swift will wear.

No official details have been revealed, but fashion watchers have already begun speculating that the singer could opt for multiple outfit changes throughout the celebration.

Given Swift’s long-standing relationships with luxury fashion houses and her love of romantic, vintage-inspired silhouettes, the possibilities are nearly endless.

For now, however, almost every detail surrounding the wedding remains based on media reports rather than official confirmation.

Until Swift and Kelce choose to share more themselves, fans will likely continue watching every new development with excitement as one of pop culture’s most anticipated celebrations draws closer.
