The nominations are in for the 50th Daytime Emmy Awards — and The Bay along with its channel partner POPSTAR! TV reached a major historic milestone as being the first totally independent drama and streamer to have a show nominated in THREE MAJOR AWARD categories- Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, Outstanding Directing Team for a Drama Series, and Outstanding Writing Team for a Drama Series!
The Bay, which airs on POPSTAR! TV, joins the ranks of The Bold And The Beautiful (CBS), Days Of Our Lives (NBS/Peacock), General Hospital (ABC) and The Young And The Restless (CBS) in being recognized as top daytime drama fare.
In the past 50 years, it was only the major broadcast networks to achieve this status. Popstar! TV and The Bay have broken that barrier! Among the five nominees in the category, The Bay is the sole series airing on an independent streamer. With this recognition, POPSTAR! TV has accomplished an unprecedented feat — being the first totally independent streamer to be nominated for the major drama awards at the Daytime Emmys.

With this current nomination for The Bay as Best Drama Series along with the major soaps on ABC, CBS and NBC, Popstar! TV just broke a major barrier and made history being the only independent non-broadcast channel to garner a nomination along with the majors.
The 50th Daytime Emmy Awards will be broadcast on June 16th at 9pm on CBS. The golden anniversary ceremony will also be streamed live on Paramount+. The Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmys will be presented the following day.
The Bay is a multi-Emmy Award winning serialized drama following the affluent yet dysfunctional Bay City residents in a town cursed by a dead senator.
