Zara Larsson has never been one to soften her stance. And she’s definitely not curating her Spotify playlists for anyone’s comfort.
The 28-year-old Swedish pop star recently played a round of “Cheap Shots” with Cosmopolitan, and when asked which artist would never make it onto her personal playlist, she didn’t hesitate.
“There’s so many artists I’ve blocked on Spotify,” Zara chuckled. “And all of them are like, abusers. You certainly wouldn’t find, like, a Chris Brown song.”
Clear. Direct. No footnotes required.
Chris Brown, 36, has faced numerous legal issues throughout his career. The domestic violence incident involving Rihanna remains one of the most widely discussed cases, and multiple allegations have surfaced over the years. For Zara, that history is enough to draw a firm line.
What makes Zara’s comment unsurprising isn’t just the name — it’s the pattern. She’s consistently used her platform to speak candidly about issues she cares about, even when the topics are polarizing.
Earlier this year, she made headlines for a pointed Instagram message addressing U.S. immigration enforcement. She wrote:
“I love immigrants, I love criminals, I love trans people, I love abortions, I love queers, I love sl–ty women, I love contraception, I love welfare, I love socialism, I f–king hate ICE.”
