It looks like Tom Holland has made a huge impact on Zendaya.
It’s been four years since they started sharing the screen in the Spider-Man franchise – and Zendaya has definitely noticed much about her co-star. Now, the 25-year-old actress is spilling the tea on what she really appreciates about Tom in a recent interview for InStyle.
“There are many things, obviously, that I appreciate,” Zendaya told the outlet. “In an actor way, I appreciate that he really loves being Spider-Man. It’s a lot of pressure—you take on the role of a superhero wherever you go. To the little kid who walks by, you are Spider-Man. I think he handled that so well.”
“And seeing him at work, even though he’s not a Virgo, he is a perfectionist,” she jokingly added, and went on to cite an example.
“Our director allowed me to come in every day [of the shoot],” she explained. “And it was cool to see how he cares so much about his work and making it right. I watched him do a fight scene all day, which is exhausting. He’d do a move, come back to the monitors, watch it, and say, ‘I can do that better.’ I’d be like, ‘Dude, you got it.’ But he wants us to be perfect, and I really appreciate that.”
She also described her British co-star as “a fun time” and “very charismatic,” noting that he “can make anybody feel comfortable and have a good laugh and a good chat.”
It appears he may be rubbing off on her, too, as she jokingly pointed out, “A good chat — I sound so British.”
For almost four years – ever since they first starred together in 2017’s Spider-Man: Far From Home – fans have been shipping the two of them, and were even given the ship name “TomDaya.” At first, both shut those dating speculations down, laughing it off and insisting they were just “best friends.” They’ve since been linked with other people. In 2019, Tom was rumored to be dating Olivia Bolton while Zendaya sparked dating speculations with her Euphoria co-star, Jacob Elordi. Those rumored romances appear to have fizzled out though.
TomDaya dating rumors got a second wind in July – fans were all in a tizzy when photos of the two kissing inside Tom’s car and attending a wedding together went viral online. While neither have publicly confirmed what their actual relationship status is, many are convinced that Tom’s super sweet post for Zendaya’s birthday (September 1) on Instagram is confirmation that they are indeed a couple.
“My MJ, have the happiest of birthdays. Gimme a call when you’re up xxx,” Tom captioned a mirror selfie with his co-star in the dressing room – to which Zendaya replied, “Calling now,” with a red heart emoji in the comments.
