After more than two years, the Met Gala is back and the most stylish celebs dazzled as they walked the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The 2021 Met Gala went down on Monday (September 13) evening, with this year’s benefit gala co-chaired by Billie Eilish, Timothée Chalamet, Naomi Osaka, and Amanda Gormand. The theme? “In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion.” And the style stars that graced the evening definitely did not disappoint.

From celebrities making their first Met Gala appearance to seasoned style stars bringing their fashion A-game, and celeb power couples doubling up the style and the pageantry, fashion’s biggest night upped the ante on the classic American style with its nostalgic or fashion-forward twists.

Major Met Gala Debuts

Billie Eilish channeled the blonde bombshells of Hollywood’s golden age with her blonde bob and gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gown.

Timothée Chalamet walked the beige carpet in a white Haider Ackermann suit.

Naomi Osaka rocked a kimono-inspired custom Louis Vuitton ensemble – a blue patterned dress belted with a structured red sash. A ruffled black cape, studded boots, avant-garde hairstyle and makeup completed her fashion-forward look.

Amanda Gormand brought on the glam with her blue Vera Wang dress, which she styled with some statement-making accessories – including her book-shaped clutch that says “give us your tired” and laurels in her hair, likely a play on the word “poet laureate.”

Lil Nas X arrived at the Met steps a prince in a golden cape before transforming into a literal knight in golden Versace armor. He further embodied the intrepid artist he is by fearlessly shedding the layers of his costume to reveal the bedazzled catsuit underneath.

Maisie Williams went goth in an all-black Thom Browne dress.

Ben went with the classic black tux while J.Lo definitely understood the assignment in her western-inspired Ralph Lauren getup, complete with cowboy hat and faux fur bolero!

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are being hailed the unofficial queen and king of the Met Gala. Rihanna shut down the beige carpet in Balenciaga and Bulgari, slaying in a black voluminous gown and beanie and lots and lots of diamonds – we’re talking 267 carats worth! A$AP provided a colorful contrast in a patchwork, blanket-like ensemble.
