Ariana Grande is ready to unravel the mysteries surrounding her much-anticipated album, “Eternal Sunshine,” and she dropped some intriguing hints during a recent interview with longtime friend Zach Sang. The 30-year-old entertainer not only revealed the tracklist for the upcoming album but also gave fans a glimpse into how it will address the media and online scrutiny surrounding her relationship with co-star Ethan Slater.

As the conversation with Zach unfolded, the focus shifted to “Eternal Sunshine,” and Ariana acknowledged the pervasive influence of tabloids and media narratives. Zach pointed out that people often craft their own conclusions about celebrities, leading Ariana to respond with an insightful observation: “The thing is, is that we know this about the tabloids and about the media, and about like, am I crazy? Don’t we know this?”

She highlighted the selective nature of media coverage, noting how tabloids often construct narratives based on personal preferences and biases. “Right, but that’s what I’m saying. It’s like we selectively remember that this is what the tabloids do to people, especially women, based on whether or not we like the person,” Ariana explained. “We selectively leave space for humanness, for nuance. They don’t leave space for that, well, they do for their friends and their family, it’s selective.”

The conversation took a deeper turn as Ariana expressed her frustration with the misconceptions that often arise about her personal life and relationships. She hinted at a sense of helplessness in watching people misunderstand those she cares about, stating, “Of course there’s like an insatiable frustration, inexplicable hellish feeling with watching people misunderstand the people you love, and you, and anything.”

While Ariana admitted there is much she wishes people knew about the situation, she refrained from diving into specifics, leaving room for interpretation. “But when they turn it off, when that aligns with the version of a person that they have in their head that they want to believe is true,” she added.

Zach said he feels this album will quiet the speculations, and she responds, “Oh god, I hope so. I don’t think it does. I think it’s the absolute worst idea. I’m so nervous, because pieces of it touch on things that are real and then pieces of it are also just like part of the concept. So, what is that separation? It’s so scary to leave it up to these selective memory people to decipher. It’s

scary, but I digress.”

Despite the apprehension, Ariana shared that the new album is “incredibly human” and operates as a concept album inspired by the movie “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” She described the album as saying “everything and nothing at the same time,” a blend of vagueness and specificity that adds an enigmatic quality to the upcoming release.

As fans eagerly anticipate the album’s drop on March 8th, Zach Sang is set to release a second part of the interview where he and Ariana will delve into the album track by track. The revelation of Ariana’s thoughts on the media, her relationships, and the essence of “Eternal Sunshine” only heightens the anticipation, leaving fans curious and intrigued about the intricacies that will unfold within the musical landscape she has crafted. The journey promises to be a nuanced exploration of love, scrutiny, and the resilience of an artist navigating the complexities of fame.
