Demi Lovato previously got candid about how she’s spending quarantine as a recently single woman – and she just opened up about the “best part” of being single for her.

On Friday (December 18) night, Demi went on Instagram Story to share: “The best part about being single is knowing that my happiness is coming from no other person than myself,” adding a pink heart emoji.

Just last month, Demi told Seth Myers that she’s been using her time in quarantine to “get to know myself better.”

“At the beginning of quarantine I got really into meditation, actually. I started meditating more,” she shared during her appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. “It was something I had kind of done in the past but not really made a lifestyle out of it. Now I’ve started meditating. I kind of came up with this new philosophy that I’m never bored. I never have to worry about being bored because I can always meditate no matter where I am or what I’m doing. That’s helped me a lot.”

“Also just building better relationships with my friends and family and even my dogs, getting to walk them is something I didn’t get to do when I was working so much,” she added. “This quarantine has been a nice little experience for me to get to know myself better.”

ICYMI, up until two months ago, Demi was engaged to be married to Max Ehrich – they started dating in March, and, after a whirlwind romance, announced their engagement in July. However, just two months later, she called off her engagement.

Various sources have shared a number of reasons behind the split – from career and long distance (Max was filming a project in Atlanta at the time) to red flags and trust issues.

These days, Demi continues to work on new music – including the single, “Still Have Me,” which seems to reference her failed relationship with Max, which she released shortly after the split. She also dropped a politically charged song, “Commander In Chief” in October.

During her opening monologue as host for the 2020 People’s Choice Awards, Demi joked about getting “unengaged.” She’s since debuted a stylish new blonde ‘do on social media – pixie cut FTW!
