Hailey Bieber is breaking her silence on the persistent rumors of a feud between her and Selena Gomez.
The perceived feud between the 26-year-old model and wife of Justin Bieber and the 30-year-old star and Justin’s former flame was put into the spotlight once again when Hailey uploaded a video earlier this year that fans saw as a diss towards her husband’s ex. The drama escalated further when fans then thought that Hailey and Kylie were mocking Selena’s eyebrows.
On Friday morning (March 24), Selena took to social media to write a message saying that Hailey reached out to her. Selena asked fans to stop sending hate and death threats to Hailey.
Several hours later, Hailey also took to social media to address the situation.
She wrote on her Instagram Story:
“I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I.
The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much ate around this which is extremely harmful. While social media is an incredible way to connect and build community, moments like this only create extreme division instead of bringing people together.”
Hailey continued:
“Things can always be taken out of context or construed differently than they were intended. We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, including myself.”
She concluded with these words:
“In the end, I believe love will always be bigger than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion.”
