Last week, Shawn dropped a new song entitled “Wonder” – and also announced that his new album will be dropping later this year. And since Shawn was spotted crossing paths with Justin and Hailey Bieber outside a recording studio in August, fans have been wondering if they’re collaborating together.

In another interview – this time on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp radio show – Shawn was asked if he turned down a collaboration with the Biebs.

Yeah, Shawn saw right through that question.

“Is this you trying to get me to confirm that I have a collaboration with Justin Bieber?” Shawn countered, before coyly replying, “If I turned one down, that would be insane, considering he’s been one of my favorite artists since I was like nine years old.”

“I cannot confirm or deny,” he added with a smile. “In the last six months, we’ve definitely become a lot closer… It’s really cool to have him as a mentor in a lot of ways, just to kind of talk through stuff with, because there’s not many people who do this type of stuff.”

“But anyways, back to your question because now I’m sidetracking on purpose,” Shawn continued – again with that smile.

Wait, so was that non-confirmation actually a confirmation? What do you think?

In other Shawn news…

When the coronavirus pandemic put the country on lockdown, it was no secret that Shawn Mendes bunkered down with girlfriend Camila Cabello. The lovebirds isolated together in Camila’s home in Miami, Florida, and were often spotted taking walks around their neighborhood, and also appeared on video calls to fans together. He even taught her how to ride a bike!

In recent days, however, the couple are spending some time apart. But nobody panic, it appears that the separation is totally a work thing, despite earlier reports of a break up.

Camila is in London, England filming her upcoming movie, Cinderella. Shawn, meanwhile, is in Los Angeles, working on new music. But it appears they are never far from each other’s minds. And the “Wonder” singer is opening up about their time together in quarantine.

“You know, I think that I’ve been really lucky because obviously I’m insanely privileged and I was in a beautiful, comfortable house and, you know,” Shawn said on Smallzy’s Surgery. “But at the same time, it was obviously really scary and crazy.”

“I mean to be completely honest, it was my first time spending time with my girlfriend and her family in their house in Miami,” he added. “I was there for like three months so I got really like, I was doing laundry, well I was barely doing laundry. I was trying to do laundry. I was learning how to cook. It was nice man, it was really nice.”

And it looks like they really enjoyed a lot of Netfilx and chill – literally!

“We watched all the Harry Potters probably three times, Stranger Things three times. It was a very necessary moment in my life I think. So it was really lovely for that reason,” he dished.
