Jameela Jamill recently interviewed Demi Lovato for her podcast I Weigh With Jameela Jamill, but she wants to make one thing clear: she’s not here to get caught in between any celebrity feuds.

The Good Place actress went on Twitter a day before the interview was released, writing, “I’m not being dragged into celebrity feuds. I’m 34. I’m not involved in any of these dynamics. I don’t care which of them dislike each other. I’m interviewing interesting humans sharing their unique mental health journeys that may help others to learn about. Demi’s episode is 👌.”

And when one fan pointed out, “You’re just best friend with Taylor Swift,” Jameela replied, “I know and like all of these women separately. Their inter personal histories and relationships are not my fight/business. Not all humans have to get along. Not all women have to get along. It is not as black and white as the internet decides it is. Humans are very complicated.”

It’s not exactly clear whether Demi and Taylor are actually feuding. They used to be friendly, but later seemed to have drifted apart. Demi has spoken out about her issues with Taylor on a number of occasions on social media. Demi is also now being repped by manager Scooter Braun, with whom Tay is feuding with over the rights to her music.

Still, when Taylor dropped her Lover album last September, Demi went on Instagram Story to drop some praise for Taylor.

“Life’s too short for women not to support other women,” Demi wrote at the time. “Especially when women release great music. Great job @taylorswift.”

“This is so awesome and put the biggest smile on my face,” Taylor replied at the time. “Thank you @ddlovato.”

Demi also opened up about her opinion on cancel culture on the podcast, which Jameela had clarified was taped before the #DemiIsOverParty started trending last week due to an alleged private Instagram account that dragged Selena Gomez.

“I’ve been canceled so many times that I can’t even count. The hashtag, #DemiIsOverParty, that whole thing it’s just, it doesn’t even affect me anymore,” Demi said in the podcast. “Where is the forgiveness culture? If you have used up your second and third chances with a certain topic, you’re canceled and you should stay canceled, but if you mess up and you apologize and you come forward and you say I’ve learned from this, then let that be an example for other people so they can change too.”
