Shawn Mendes is working on new music!
The “Stitches” singer has been spotted hitting up recording studios in California in recent weeks.
Earlier this month, Shawn was snapped exiting a recording studio in Glendale, California – which could mean that his new album is in the works!
While that’s cause enough for excitement, fans got even more thrilled when Shawn was spotted bumping into none other than the Biebs outside a recording studio in L.A. – sociually distanced, of course.
Shawn, who was rocking a vintage tee and a black mask, was caught on camera exiting the studio – where he met up with Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey Baldwin.
Hailey was previously romantically linked with Shawn back in 2018, he even escorted her to the Met Gala in 2018. The two both totally shot that rumor down though – and a few weeks later, she had rekindled her romance with now-husband Justin.
Then, last year, when The Observer magazine labeled Shawn the “Prince Of Pop” on their cover, and the two had a hilarious exchange on Instagram.
Justin hopped on the comments section of Shawn’s post to jokingly write, “Hmm…Gonna have to break a few more records to dethrone my title there bud (canadian voice)..but if you want we can play hockey for it but i heard your [sic] a real bender on the ice we could just drop the buckets and tilt for it.”
However, some fans reacted to Justin’s comment, to which he responded, “There is no competition and it was a playful joke people relax.. there’s no sides we’re all just here to make dope music. I’m just [as] competitive as he is … so it was just a little playful jargon.”
While these events have led fans to speculate there may be tension between the two popstars, they’ve always insisted that they’re cool.
Shawn has since confirmed he was dating his “Senorita” collaborator, Camila Cabello – although there are recent rumors swirling that the two are taking some time apart – and just last month, videos of Justin and Tori Kelly jamming with Shawn, who was playing on the piano at the time, surfaced on the internet, thanks to JB’s manager, Scooter Braun. Fans have even called for the two to collaborate on a song.
Their recent meet up – at a recording studio, no less! – further proves that these three are totally cool. It also has fans speculating whether the Shawn and Justin are actually answering fans’ wishes and are collaborating on a song together! How awesome would that be?
