Kim Kardashian is sharing her thoughts on the Balenciaga controversy.

The fashion brand is under fire for a series of photos off of their recent fashion campaign which featured young kids next to collections of wine glasses and clutching bear backpacks that were featured in bondage straps.

Upon seeing the disturbing images on the brand’s campaign. Many called for Balenciaga to be boycotted and took them to task for what the intention behind the campaign was. Following the backlash, Balenciaga issued a few apologies and then decided to sue the production company behind the campaign.

Kim is a longtime celebrity supporter of Balenciaga. She has released her own statement addressing the controversy. She said:

“I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been shocked and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened.

As a mother of four, I have been shaken by those disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and anything against it should have no place in our society – period.”

She went on to say:

“I appreciate Balenziaga’s removal of the campaigns and apology. In speaking with them, I believe they understand the seriousness of the issue and will take the necessary measured for this to never happen again.”

Kim followed that up with a second statement in which she addressed her future with Balenciaga. Here’s what she had to say:

“As for my future with Balenciaga, I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with – and the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children.”
