Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have taken their love across continents. But since going public with their romance earlier this year, there’s been one place they haven’t hit up and heated up – the red carpet. Until this weekend that is.

The lovebirds made their red carpet debut at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards – and didn’t shy away from displaying their love in front of cameras as they posed for photos, including the now-infamous tongue-touching moment.

Kourtney and Travis walked the red carpet in color-coordinated outfits, rocking all black for the occasion – Kourtney in an off-shoulder long-sleeved leather mini-dress with a cut-out lace-up detail in front; Travis in a black suit with spike details on his shoulders and knees, going sans dress shirt with his tattoos proudly on display.

Kourtney was there to introduce and support her beau who was slated to perform that evening with Machine Gun Kelly (real name: Colson Baker), who also made daring style statements at the VMAs alongside girlfriend Megan Fox.

MGK arrived in a dazzling red metallic suit and rocked pearl embellishments on face while Megan turned heads in her sheer Mugler gown with crystal details she wore over an embellished thong and nude corset bra.

Megan and Kourtney joined forces to introduce their beaus’ performance, “New York, I need you to get extra loud for our future baby daddies,” Megan said, with Kourtney adding, “Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker!”

MGK and Travis closed out the evening with a bang, performing “Papercuts” with the surprise addition of MGK’s freestyle rap verse in the middle of the song.

MGK’s verse wasn’t the only surprise at the awards show. It was an evening filled with memorable TV debuts and performances, powerful speeches, plus unexpected appearances – including Jennifer Lopez surprise drop by to hand Olivia Rodrigo the Song Of The Year Award for “Driver’s License.”

J.Lo, who’s also fresh off making her red carpet debut 2.0 with Ben Affleck at the Venice Film Festival, looked stunning in a sparkly, stringy David Koma ensemble – lace-up black long-sleeved cutout paired with a metallic cutout skirt. She completed her effortlessly flawless look with her hair styled in a bouncy, beachy blowout, and smokey eye makeup that complemented her nude, glossy lips.

Doja Cat made her hosting debut at the show and brought some unforgettable fashion statements to the stage – including rocking a chair hat and chicken feet shoes, and later, a psychedelic yellow-and-blue Thom Browne dress from Spring 2018.

“I look like a worm. That’s dope. I never thought I’d be dressed as a worm accepting an award,” the singer said, as she accepted the Best Collaboration Award for her song “Kiss Me More” with SZA. She also lit up the stage to perform “Been Like This” and “You Right.”

Justin Bieber, who came into the evening as the most-nominated artist, made his return to the VMA Stage for the first time in six years, opening the show and amping up the crowd with his performance of “Ghost.” Olivia Rodrigo followed to deliver an incredible performance of “good 4 u.”

Ed Sheeran debuted the first live performance of his latest single “Shivers,” while Kacey Musgraves made her VMAs debut with the world premiere performance of her song, “Star-Crossed.” Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow hit the stage for their first-ever live performance together of “Industry Baby.” Normani’s TV debut of “Wild Side” brought 90s artists TLC and Aaliyah vibes in her performance. Chloe Bailey also made her solo debut performance on the VMA stage with her debut solo single, “Have Mercy.”

Billie Eilish won the Video for Good Award for “Your Power.” Accepting the award, she also spoke up for women’s rights, saying, “We need to protect our young women at all costs. We also need to remember that we all have power. And we have to remember not to abuse it.”

Music icons Foo Fighters and Busta Rhymes brought the house down during their respective sets. And Twenty One Pilots’ Tyler Joseph shared some exciting news during their performance: he and his wife are expecting their second child.
