Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp are weighing in on a very hot Stranger Things topic.

The two Stranger Things co-stars and real-life BFFs opened up in a recent interview about the sexuality of Noah’s character Will on the show, and whether he is gay,

There have been guite a few scenes in Part 1 of Season 4 that fans seem to think lean towards hinting at Will being gay. And it’s something that’s widely speculated on online.

In a new interview with Variety, Millie and Noah voiced their thoughts on the topic, with Noah saying about his character:

“I feel like they never really address it or blatantly say how Will is.

I think that’s the beauty of it, that it’s just up to the audience’s interpretation, if it’s Will kind of just refusing to grow up and growing up slower than his friends, or if he is really gay.”

Millie then chimed in, saying:

Can I just say, it’s 2022 and we don’t have to label things.

I think what’s really nice about Will’s character is that he’s just a human being going through his own personal demons and issues. So many kids out there don’t know, and that’s OK. That’s OK to not know. And that’s OK not to label things.”

Noah agreed with what Millie said:

“I find that people do reach to put a label on him and just want to know, so badly, like, ‘Oh, and this is it.’ He’s just confused and growing up.

And that’s what it is to be a kid.”

Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer (the Duffer brothers) have stated that fans will soon be getting more insight into Will’s sexuality. Matt said of all the speculations:

“You’re supposed to be asking those questions.

This is where it gets tricky since we haven’t released the whole season yet. I just want people to watch the final two episodes [of Season 4].”

Ross added:

‘We have story arcs and we have character arcs. How we structured [the season], we’ve released the first two acts of this story.

The final act, which is the last two episodes, resolves a lot of things, both character and story, and then some of it is also setting up for our final season.”
