Adele is officially stepping into the spotlight — this time, on the big screen.

The 37-year-old powerhouse singer, known worldwide for her soul-stirring hits like “Hello” and “Someone Like You,” is ready to make her acting debut in Tom Ford’s highly anticipated new film, Cry to Heaven.

The movie marks another bold chapter for Adele, who’s long captivated audiences with her emotional depth and charisma — two traits that make her a natural fit for the screen. Written, directed, and produced by Tom Ford himself, Cry to Heaven is an adaptation of Anne Rice’s 1982 novel of the same name, which tells a haunting and intricate story set in 18th-century Venice. The narrative follows a Venetian nobleman and a castrated opera singer whose lives become unexpectedly entangled — a dramatic, atmospheric tale that feels tailor-made for Ford’s sleek storytelling style.

According to Variety, the film is currently in pre-production across Rome and London, with principal photography set to begin in January 2026. A fall 2026 release window has been tentatively announced — giving fans plenty of time to speculate about Adele’s mysterious role.

And if the cast list is any indication, this project is shaping up to be one of the most star-studded ensembles of the decade. Alongside Adele, Cry to Heaven features Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ciarán Hinds, George MacKay, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany, Owen Cooper, Daniel Quinn Toye, Hunter Schafer, Josephine Thiesen, Thandiwe Newton, Theodore Pellerin, Daryl McCormack, Cassian Bilton, Hauk Hannenmann, and Lux Pascal.

With her Vegas residency drawing rave reviews and now a film role under her belt, Adele’s next act looks like one worth watching — and if history’s any indication, she’s sure to steal the scene.
