Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez are continuing to spend time together—and their latest outing has fans talking once again.

The Grammy-winning superstar celebrated the Fourth of July with her former boyfriend, adding another public appearance to a growing list of recent sightings that have fueled curiosity about their relationship. While the pair have been photographed together several times over the past few weeks, sources continue to maintain that their renewed connection is strictly platonic.

Grande, 33, and Alvarez, 34, dated from 2015 to 2016 during one of the busiest chapters of the singer’s career. Although their romance ended years ago, the two have remained on good terms, and recent photos suggest that friendship is still very much intact.

On Saturday, July 4, Grande and Alvarez were photographed running errands together in Boca Raton, Florida, where the singer was born and raised.

The pair stopped at Whole Foods to pick up groceries before heading to Grande’s parents’ home to celebrate the holiday with family.

Photos from the outing showed Alvarez helping Grande carry grocery bags, with the two appearing relaxed as they prepared for the Independence Day gathering.

The casual holiday outing follows another recent appearance that generated headlines.

Last month, Grande and Alvarez were spotted spending time together in Austin, Texas, shortly after one of the singer’s tour stops. That sighting quickly led to speculation online that the former couple may have rekindled their relationship.

Soon afterward, however, TMZ reported that there was no romance behind the reunion.

According to the outlet, an insider said “there is nothing romantic between Ariana and Ricky this time around.”

That claim appears consistent with what fans have seen publicly.

Rather than grand date nights or romantic getaways, the pair have largely been photographed doing ordinary, everyday activities—sharing meals, running errands and spending time with mutual friends.

Even so, the renewed friendship has naturally drawn attention given the history they share.

Grande and Alvarez were together during a significant period of her life and career, with their relationship frequently making headlines before they quietly went their separate ways in 2016.

Although they’ve each moved on over the years, their ability to remain close speaks to the positive terms on which their relationship appears to have ended.

The latest reunion also comes during a period of transition for Grande personally.

The singer is newly single following her recent breakup with actor Ethan Slater.

The two met while filming the two-part Wicked movie adaptation, in which Grande stars as Glinda opposite Slater’s Boq. Their relationship attracted considerable media attention throughout its run before news of their split emerged earlier this year.

Since then, Grande has largely kept a low public profile outside of work commitments and occasional appearances with friends and family.

Neither Grande nor Alvarez has publicly addressed the recent speculation surrounding their appearances together, choosing instead to let the photographs speak for themselves.
