Ariana Grande is clearing the air: music still has her heart.

The 32-year-old superstar, currently balancing roles in Wicked and her R.E.M. Beauty empire, took to social media to reassure fans that she’s not walking away from her pop career anytime soon.

Responding to concerns that she might be stepping back from music, Grande set the record straight with a heartfelt post.

“very silly of you all to assume that just because i have my hands full with many things that i plan to abandon singing & music … !!!” she wrote.

“it is and has always been my lifeline. there will need to be room made for all of it. 🧚🏼‍♂️ it may not look exactly like it did before but i much prefer how it looks in my head,” she added.

The Positions singer explained that she’s in a creative space right now and figuring out how to balance all her passions.

“i am having fun. i feel grateful and excited and inspired. 🙂 finding a balance, between many projects and endeavors i love, and doing it my own way… so i’m working on a plan to sing for you all next year. even if it’s just for a little. i love you.”

Grande has spent much of the past year promoting Wicked, where she plays Glinda, and has hinted that the role has inspired her in new ways creatively. She’s also continued growing her beauty brand, which has become a fan favorite in the cosmetics world.

While her schedule may be packed, it’s clear that music remains central to who she is. And judging by her words, fans can expect to hear new songs—on her terms—soon.
