Benny Blanco is addressing the internet’s latest obsession: his hygiene.
The 38-year-old hitmaker — known for producing chart-toppers for artists like Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and Katy Perry — recently joked about his cleanliness during a new episode of his podcast Friends Keep Secrets.
And yes, the conversation got very specific.
Blanco addressed the ongoing chatter about his personal hygiene after a viral moment involving his wife, Selena Gomez. Earlier this year, social media erupted when a clip circulated of Gomez playfully kissing Blanco’s feet — which, according to internet commentary, looked less than pristine.
Naturally, fans had opinions.
During the podcast episode, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran joined Blanco and co-host Lil Dicky for a candid conversation that quickly veered into the topic of shower routines.
Sheeran admitted he’s firmly on the frequent-shower side of the debate.
“I shower like once or twice a day,” he explained.
Then he turned the conversation toward Blanco — but not in the way listeners might expect.
“I’m like you, though. I look like I don’t smell good, but you’re the best smelling person I know,” he said.
Blanco enthusiastically agreed.
“I know! I smell good…like, even if I don’t shower,” Benny continued.
The producer has long embraced a self-deprecating sense of humor, and the moment fit perfectly with the laid-back, slightly chaotic vibe of his podcast. But things only got more ridiculous from there.
Blanco decided to redirect the attention toward Lil Dicky.
“Sometimes you stink,” Benny said to him.

“That’s like a bum hole. Jesus Christ. Can I have something that’s going to take that smell away?” Ed said after smelling Lil Dicky‘s navel.
Blanco, for his part, insisted he wasn’t the problem.
“Mine smells just like nothing,” Benny said.
The conversation quickly became one of those bizarre but hilarious podcast moments that feels almost designed to go viral — and unsurprisingly, clips from the episode began circulating online almost immediately.
