Fans were left shocked on Saturday night when Brandy suddenly walked off stage during The Boy Is Mine Tour stop in Chicago — leaving her co-headliner Monica to finish the show solo.

The 46-year-old singer, known for her powerhouse vocals and R&B classics, was performing at the United Center on October 18 when things took an unexpected turn. In fan videos circulating online, Brandy can be heard saying, “Give me one second y’all, I gotta get my…” before trailing off and walking offstage. In another clip, she mentions that “the sound is weird.”

Unfortunately, she never returned to the stage. The concert ended early, and disappointed fans were seen filling out complaint forms outside the venue after realizing the duo wouldn’t be performing their iconic duet, “The Boy Is Mine.”

Initially, speculation swirled about what had gone wrong — from technical issues to behind-the-scenes drama — but Brandy quickly took to social media to set the record straight.

“To my dear fans in Chicago, thank you all for the overwhelming love, support, and – most importantly – your prayers,” she began in a heartfelt message.

“I sincerely apologize for the abrupt end to last night’s performance in Chicago. After weeks of nonstop rehearsals, last night I experienced dehydration and feelings of wanting to faint, everyone involved agreed that prioritizing my well-being was of the utmost importance,” Brandy explained.

“I still made the decision to try and return and give it my all despite not feeling ok. With having to make some adjustments and the show being very technical, unfortunately, it was impossible to fully connect sonically with the production, I really appreciate everyone’s best efforts,” she added.

The singer also praised her co-star for stepping up during the chaos: “I’m deeply grateful to my sister, Monica, for stepping up with such grace and professionalism and the entire crew for their continued care and support. I went from the arena to see a doctor nearby and have taken the proper precautions to help moving forward.”

She ended on a hopeful note, writing, “Your understanding, patience, and unwavering belief mean the world to me. I look forward to returning to the stage — stronger and more grateful than ever — alongside my girl, Monica, tonight in Indianapolis. With all my love, Brandy.”

It looks like the R&B icon is putting her health first — and with her powerful comeback planned for the next stop, fans can rest easy knowing this tour’s story isn’t over just yet.
