Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s long-running feud has flared up once more, this time over a series of tweets that quickly spiraled into a social media storm.

It started on Monday night, September 29, when Nicki posted a cryptic tweet: “$4.99,” which appeared to mock the promotional price of Cardi’s new album Am I The Drama? on iTunes. Nicki then followed up with several more tweets that used Cardi’s own lyrics to taunt her.

In one post, Nicki wrote: “Abcdefgeeeeeeee, SUR GER REE TO LOOK LIKE MEEEEEE / tell the rat & tell J ZEEEEEE / Rico Fraud & PERJURY.” Another tweet read: “Fallin off the charts wit a big bellyyyy / RUNNING TRAINS. Barefoot, still smellyyyyy / Still. You. Could. Not. outsell. meeeeee.”

All of Nicki’s tweets were later deleted, but not before they sparked a wave of online reactions. Cardi didn’t hold back in her replies, which remain live on her account. In one scathing response, she questioned why Nicki continues to bring her up. “Why you keep bringing up my album?? It’s not the gag that you think it is..You been in the game like 16 years.. you need to compare yourself to YOUR peers that started around YOUR time. Rihanna, Taylor swift, Drake…those are the numbers you need to be competing wit and you can’t cuz you doing lower than all of them… I was in high school when you came out wtf is you comparing yourself to me for???”

The feud between the two rappers stretches back years, famously boiling over into a physical altercation at a New York Fashion Week event in 2018. While both artists have enjoyed massive success, the rivalry continues to bubble to the surface whenever either of them makes a move.

This latest exchange reignited debates among fans, with hashtags for both Cardi and Nicki trending worldwide. Supporters on each side have been quick to defend their favorite, while others are calling for the two artists to put the drama behind them and focus on their music.

For now, it seems unlikely that the icy relationship between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj will thaw anytime soon. If anything, their latest clash proves that even in 2025, their feud still has the power to dominate the internet.
