After a year of low-key romance, actor Chace Crawford and model Kelsey Merritt have officially called it quits. The Boysstar, 41, and the Victoria’s Secret runway alum, 29, have decided to go their separate ways after just over a year of dating.
The pair first sparked romance rumors in early 2025 in Los Angeles before confirming their relationship with a affectionate moment in New York City that spring. Over the course of their year-long romance, the couple maintained a relatively private profile, though they made select high-profile appearances together—notably sitting courtside at the 2025 U.S. Open and attending a Falconeri fashion dinner in Los Angeles alongside Crawford’s former Gossip Girl co-star, Leighton Meester.
While Crawford generally keeps his personal life guarded, he offered a charming glimpse into his relationship perspective during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, revealing a grounded, thoughtful approach to romance. “I like to cook, so I do like to cook for girls,” he told host Alex Cooper. “I’m a homebody, so I really like to focus on [being] very thoughtful. I feel like I’m a thoughtful person.”
He also lightheartedly outlined his dating red flags, noting that “punctuality” and “bad tats” were high on his list. “Maybe a neck tat is probably a deal breaker for me. It’s actually never happened!” he joked.
Reflecting on his breakout role as Nate Archibald on Gossip Girl, Crawford also addressed long-standing rumors regarding on-set dating dynamics during an interview on Armchair Expert. Looking back at his twenties with fondness, he shared, “When you’re young, it is a different thing. Because it is like a college experience, it’s all different. Everyone’s kind of single or dating or whatever, everyone’s sort of up for whatever. Nobody’s married, the stakes are very low, so it is a funnier, more college-like school experience.”
As he closes this personal chapter, Crawford is stepping into an ambitious new era professionally. Following the launch of his fashion line, American Dream Clubhouse, he recently concluded his memorable five-season run as The Deep on Prime Video’s flagship superhero series, The Boys. Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, he reflected on the bittersweet farewell: “I mean, five seasons over seven years, it was incredible. The writing this year too, they’re doing such a good job with landing the plane and really figuring everything out. It was really a special show.”
