Following Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause’s emotional video announcement confirming her separation from Australian musician G Flip after four years together, new details are emerging regarding the factors that led to their quiet breakup.

While the former couple celebrated two romantic wedding ceremonies—one in Las Vegas in 2023 and a second ceremony in 2025—reports from TMZ confirm the pair were never legally married, having intended to finalize official paperwork at a later date. According to sources close to the couple, the decision to call it quits was initiated by G Flip due to the physical distance required by their respective careers.

“The distance is what really drove the two of them apart,” a source revealed to People. “The long flights, going weeks without seeing each other, and time difference took its toll.”

With G Flip’s music career anchored primarily in Australia and Stause’s real estate and television commitments centered in Los Angeles, maintaining a routine proved increasingly difficult over time.

“They were trying to make the ‘marriage,’ that was never legal, work. They both wanted to have kids, but they also both didn’t want to uproot their lives for the other,” the insider added.

Despite the painful separation, those close to the pair emphasize that mutual respect and deep affection remain intact:

“Chrishell and G Flip still very much love each other and haven’t ruled anything out, as far as reuniting romantically, in the future. It was hard to dream about a life together, when they both had that dream on different continents.”
