Chad Michael Murray’s 8-year-old daughter just experienced a major starstruck moment — and it was all thanks to Lindsay Lohan.
The 43-year-old actor, best known for his heartthrob roles in early 2000s hits like One Tree Hill and A Cinderella Story, recently hit the red carpet with his family for the premiere of Freakier Friday — the sequel to the 2003 Disney classic Freaky Friday. That film, of course, starred Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, and yes, Chad played the dreamy teen Jake who won over a generation of fans.
But for Chad’s daughter, meeting Lindsay Lohan wasn’t just another red carpet moment — it was huge.
“She just had a moment because she just met Lindsay,” Chad told E! News with a smile, mimicking his daughter’s wide-eyed reaction. “She’s not like that at all.”
Apparently, the surreal moment of seeing a movie star she admired in real life left the little one completely awe-struck. And dad couldn’t be more amused.
“I have a feeling she’ll be on one of these carpets pretty soon,” Chad added. “It’s just where she’s destined to be, but she had that moment. It’s weird, the people you watch in movies, to see them in real life.”
But the father-daughter bonding didn’t stop there. Chad shared that his daughter also got a good laugh out of seeing her dad in his younger, swoony days as Jake in the original Freaky Friday.
“She picks on me most of all,” he said with a chuckle. “I remember she was watching the first Freaky Friday, the day before I went to shoot Freakier. I was like, ‘Guys, I want to show you what I’m doing.’”
“I remember Jake comes on screen,” Chad continued, “and she goes, ‘What did you do to your hair? What is wrong with you?’ She was embarrassed for me.”
Despite the gentle teasing, Chad is clearly soaking up the joy of this full-circle moment — from starring in the original to revisiting the magic two decades later, now with his kids in tow.
Reuniting with Lindsay and Jamie Lee Curtis for the sequel was more than just nostalgic — it was downright uplifting.
“It’s the best,” he said enthusiastically. “There’s nothing like it. You come home every day reenergized. For me, that’s where I’d like to stay for a bit while my kids are in this age.”
He added, “I’d like to stay in this world where you come home light.”
With this new chapter in the Freaky Friday universe, it’s safe to say Chad isn’t just winning over a new generation of fans — he’s winning the ultimate title: Cool Dad.
