Charli XCX might be one of pop’s most inventive voices — but she’s already thinking about her next creative chapter.
The “365” singer recently revealed that acting is becoming an increasingly appealing direction for her career, even joking that she’d consider stepping away from music entirely to pursue it.
Charli made the comment while appearing on the February 22 episode of Quenlin Blackwell’s online cooking series Feeding Starving Celebrities, where the two discussed everything from dream roles to chaotic movie concepts.
When Blackwell asked whether Charli hoped to do more acting in the future, the singer didn’t hesitate.
“I want to quit music, babe, and act,” Charli responded.
The remark was delivered with Charli’s signature mix of humor and blunt honesty — though it reflects a very real expansion of her creative ambitions.
Charli has already begun carving out a presence in the film world. The pop star has several acting projects lined up for 2026, signaling a deliberate shift toward exploring new artistic outlets.
Among those films is The Moment, which recently premiered, along with upcoming projects like I Want Your Sex, The Gallerist, and Faces of Death.
The latter film, a remake of the controversial 1978 horror movie, also stars Stranger Things actor Dacre Montgomery and Euphoria star Barbie Ferreira. The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on April 10.
During her conversation with Blackwell, Charli also shared a playful idea for a film she once imagined starring some of her creative peers.
The concept? A fashion-world horror movie inspired by the Final Destination franchise.
She described it as an “ultimate ‘it girl’ Final Destination.”
In the original video where she pitched the idea, Charli listed possible cast members including Blackwell herself, Rachel Sennott, Alex Consani, and Romy Mars.
The twist? Every elaborate death scene would happen during high-fashion moments.
“All the deaths would be, like, on the runway,” she said.
As for her own character’s fate?
Charli joked that she probably wouldn’t survive very long.
Her character, she suggested, would likely meet her end at “a rave” or something similarly chaotic.
Whether or not Charli ever fully leaves music behind, it’s clear she’s eager to expand her creative range. After all, artists who reinvent themselves tend to last the longest.
And if her growing acting résumé is any indication, Charli XCX’s next era may already be underway.
