A sweet moment during a Coldplay concert unexpectedly turned into a viral internet scandal—thanks to one couple’s very suspicious reaction to being on camera.
It all went down during Coldplay’s recent show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. As Chris Martin performed on stage, the jumbotron panned across the audience, capturing enthusiastic fans enjoying the night. But one camera pan caught something a little less innocent: Astronomer CEO Andy Byron embracing a woman from behind.
The woman? Kristin Cabot, his company’s Chief People Officer.
As soon as the pair realized they were on screen, they visibly panicked—jumping apart and ducking out of view. The awkward, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment caught fire online, racking up more than 45 million views on TikTok and spreading like wildfire across social media.
“Come on, you’re OK!” Chris Martin quipped into the mic as he noticed the two vanish from the screen. Then, almost reading the room, he added: “Uh oh. Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
The internet quickly zeroed in on the identities of the mystery duo, and things escalated. Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, removed her last name from Facebook—then swiftly deactivated her account altogether. Byron, meanwhile, appears to have deleted his LinkedIn page entirely.
Byron is reportedly still married. Cabot, on the other hand, finalized her divorce from Kenneth Thornby in 2022.
