The powerful onscreen dynamic that anchored Stranger Things is getting an intriguing second chapter. Following the landmark conclusion of Netflix’s flagship sci-fi hit, David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown are locking arms once again for an untamed new thriller series penned by Adolescence creator Jack Thorne. Moving past the supernatural halls of Hawkins, the duo will explore a sophisticated, high-stakes father-daughter relationship within the world of international espionage.
Speaking at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards shortly after taking home his first Emmy statuette, Harbour couldn’t hide his enthusiasm for getting back on set with his longtime scene partner, playfully noting that the two simply “can’t get enough” of working together.
“I go anywhere in the world and people know the relationship of Hopper and Eleven,” Harbour reflected while discussing the global resonance of their iconic pairing. “There’s something about that I thought was so special.”
Rather than leaving that magic behind when Stranger Things wrapped its five-season run, Harbour revealed a deep desire to translate that rare actor chemistry into fresh narrative territory. “wanted to use the building blocks of the dynamic between me and her” to build a project that feels distinct, grounded, and original. “It really is a working relationship, where we love what we bring out in each other,” Harbour added. “You’re in service of a greater story, and we both know how to do that and think about that and talk about that. I love what we have together and I love to be able to see her on a daily basis.”
The untitled series centers on Matt Wolfe (Harbour), a disgraced former FBI operative turned private security consultant who is dragged back into the shadows when his estranged daughter, Rebecca (Brown)—now a rising FBI agent following in his footsteps—disappears during a covert operation.
Beyond starring, both actors are taking the reins behind the camera as executive producers. Brown produces through her PCMA Productions banner alongside her husband, Jake Bongiovi, and her father, Robert Brown. With two scripts already completed, Harbour teased that the story is “very unexpected,” promising fans a sharp, elevated thriller that showcases both actors at the top of their game.
