It’s happening — for the first time in over 20 years, the full cast of Dawson’s Creek is coming together again. Fans who grew up with Dawson, Joey, Pacey, and Jen are about to see the whole gang reunited on stage for a night that blends nostalgia with a powerful cause.
On Monday, September 22, the full cast will gather at the Richard Rodgers Theater in New York City for a live script reading of the show’s original 1998 pilot episode. Stars James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams, Joshua Jackson, Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe, and Busy Philipps are all confirmed to appear.
Even though Philipps, Smith, and Monroe weren’t in the pilot (they joined later as Audrey, Jack, and Andie), they’ll be jumping in to read various roles. The event serves two purposes: to benefit F Cancer and to support Van Der Beek, who revealed last year that he’s battling stage 3 colorectal cancer. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 22, at 10 a.m. PT through Broadway Direct.
The evening will be directed by Jason Moore, who helmed a few episodes of Dawson’s Creek during its original run. Producers include Carl Ogawa, Moore himself, Michelle Williams, Thomas Kail, Maggie Brohn, Kevin Williamson (the show’s creator), and Greg Berlanti.
Williamson shared his excitement in a heartfelt statement: “I am so excited to reunite with James, Michelle, Katie, Joshua, and our ‘Dawson’s Creek’ family for such a special night. ‘Dawson’s Creek’ changed my life. What began as a personal story about a young man and his friends navigating their way through the challenges of life became so much more than I ever dreamed. It created an enduring fandom and legacy all over the world. I am so honored to be a part of it and to support our beautiful friend, James, as we continue to navigate our way through life and its many challenges.”
Michelle Williams echoed the sentiment, adding: “We grew up in Capeside and that’s a bond that will last a lifetime. We wanted to gather around our dear friend James and remind him that we are all here. We always have been and we always will be. And I know the fans of ‘Dawson’s Creek’ feel the same way.”
The partnership with F Cancer is no accident. As CEO Dr. Heather Kun explained: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with the cast of ‘Dawson’s Creek’ to emphasize the importance of routine cancer screenings and being your own biggest health advocate. Cancer screening is crucial because it can detect certain cancers at an early stage before symptoms appear, significantly improving outcomes and saving lives.”
The beloved WB teen drama originally aired for six seasons from 1998 to 2003, leaving behind a cultural footprint that still resonates. With sponsors including Guardant Health and Hard Rock Hotel New York, this reunion is shaping up to be more than just a walk down memory lane — it’s a celebration of resilience, friendship, and community.
