Joe Jonas may have just given Disney fans the news they’ve been waiting for since the late 2000s — a potential return to Camp Rock.
The 34-year-old singer, alongside brothers Nick and Kevin, has been fielding questions about the possibility of a third installment for months. Rumors have been swirling that Disney might be reviving the franchise that catapulted the Jonas Brothers — and their co-star Demi Lovato — into global stardom. Now, thanks to one candid moment, the speculation has reached fever pitch.
The interesting twist? Disney hasn’t actually confirmed anything yet.
The slip happened during a “Hot One Versus” challenge on First We Feast. The game was rolling along until Joe was asked what the last entry in his phone’s Notes app was. Without hesitation, he replied:
“Read Camp Rock 3,” he spilled, adding, “It’s the truth. Sorry, Disney!”
That’s all it took for fans to go into overdrive online, dissecting every word and emoji they could find on the Jonas Brothers’ socials.
If that wasn’t enough to fuel the theory, another recent interview added a little more fire to the rumor mill. Nick Jonas casually mentioned that the trio would be filming a movie in September during a short break from their Greetings From Your Hometown Tour. While he didn’t name names, fans quickly connected the dots, assuming it was the Disney threequel.
Multiple outlets have since reported that production is indeed set to kick off this September, with High School Musical: The Musical: The Series creator Tim Federle allegedly stepping in to direct. According to those same reports, Demi Lovato is also on board to reprise her role as Mitchie Torres — a move that would officially reunite the core Camp Rock crew after more than a decade.
Still, without an official Disney announcement, all of this remains in the “strongly hinted but not confirmed” territory. That hasn’t stopped longtime fans from flooding TikTok, X, and Instagram with throwback clips, wish-list plots, and theories about where the characters might be now.
Adding even more nostalgia to the mix, the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato recently had a real-life reunion — and it went viral instantly. On opening night of their tour at MetLife Stadium, Demi joined the brothers on stage for the first time in years, belting out two classic Camp Rock songs together. The moment had the crowd screaming lyrics like it was 2008 all over again.
If the reports are accurate, filming will be wrapped before the end of the year, potentially setting the stage for a 2026 release. Fans are already speculating about whether the new installment will stick to the original’s lighthearted camp-life vibe or take a more grown-up approach, given how much the cast — and their audience — has evolved.
For now, Disney is keeping quiet, but Joe’s accidental confession has given fans all the hope they need. Whether intentional or not, it’s clear that Camp Rock still has a devoted fan base — and they’re ready to sing along all over again.
