New developments have emerged in the investigation surrounding the tragic death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was discovered in a car owned by singer D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke. Authorities continue to treat the case as a homicide despite the extreme condition of the body, which has complicated official determinations.

According to TMZ, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner received the body in “horrendous condition.” Parts of her body were reportedly decapitated, with limbs removed and cut into pieces. Additionally, the body was “partially frozen” and had been thawing in the trunk of the Tesla, further obstructing forensic analysis. At the time of discovery, investigators were initially unable to determine even the sex of the victim due to the state of decomposition.

Due to the condition of the remains, the medical examiner will likely rule the cause of death as “undetermined.” However, this does not prevent law enforcement from moving forward with an arrest. “Even if the official cause of death is undetermined, authorities can move forward with an arrest,” TMZ reports.

The Tesla in question had been parked for several days on a street near D4vd’s rental property and was eventually towed, which led to the grim discovery. D4vd has since been named a suspect in the investigation, and reports now indicate the involvement of a second individual.

Attorney Mark Geragos discussed the case on the 2 Angry Men podcast, revealing knowledge of a second suspect “who may have been involved before, during, and after” Celeste’s death. Additionally, investigators are looking into a trip D4vd allegedly took to a remote area in Santa Barbara County in the spring, where he reportedly spent two hours. Authorities are exploring whether this trip is linked to the sequence of events leading to Celeste’s death and the handling of her body.

While D4vd has not been charged with a crime yet, sources indicate he “has not been cooperative,” despite prior statements from his representatives claiming he is “fully cooperating.” Law enforcement continues to build the case, working to piece together the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
