Nearly two years after her arrest in Savannah, Georgia, Alaia Baldwin Aronow is now facing formal charges.

The 33-year-old, who is the older sister of Hailey Bieber, has been charged with four criminal misdemeanors stemming from an incident that occurred in February 2024, according to E! News.

On Monday (January 26), Alaia was officially charged with simple battery, simple assault, battery, and criminal trespass. Her arraignment is scheduled for April 23. If found guilty, she could face up to a year in jail on the battery charge.

The charges relate to an altercation at a Savannah nightclub, where Alaia was accused of throwing her tampon at an employee during a dispute.

According to a police report, Alaia became involved in an altercation with two bouncers and a bartender. Authorities allege that she attempted to enter a locked employee bathroom after being told there was a public restroom available nearby.

The report also states there is security footage showing Alaia “forcing her way into the locked employee bathroom,” despite repeated instructions from staff.

At the time of her arrest, the incident drew public attention due to her family ties, though Alaia has largely stayed out of the spotlight since. Neither Alaia nor her representatives have publicly commented on the charges as of now.

The case marks a delayed but significant legal development, as the charges were not filed until nearly two years after the arrest. Legal experts note that such delays can occur due to ongoing investigations, evidence review, or prosecutorial discretion.

As the April arraignment approaches, the focus will now shift to how the case proceeds through the legal system — and whether Alaia chooses to speak publicly about the incident.
