Ice Spice is addressing a viral moment the way only she can—with humor, timing, and just enough edge.
Recently, footage surfaced showing the rapper involved in a physical altercation inside a McDonald’s. The video, first shared by TMZ, quickly spread across social media, sparking conversation and concern.
In the clip, Ice Spice—whose real name is Isis Gaston—is seated in a booth when a woman approaches her table. The interaction escalates quickly. The woman appears to antagonize the rapper before suddenly reaching across and slapping her.
From there, the situation intensifies. Ice Spice reacts, and the altercation continues outside the restaurant.
It’s a moment that, for many artists, might prompt a carefully worded statement.
Ice Spice chose a different route.
Reposting the footage to her X account, she responded with a single line:
“this wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s,” she wrote.
The comment landed instantly.
Partly because of its tone—dry, quick, and unmistakably self-aware. But also because of context: Ice Spice has an ongoing partnership with Wendy’s and has previously spoken about working there before her rise to fame.
Just days earlier, she had posted:
“till rich still craving @wendys new spicy chicken sandwich #wendyspartner,”
The response, while light, doesn’t erase the seriousness of what happened.
According to her attorney, Bradford Cohen, the situation is being taken seriously behind the scenes.
“The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD and we will be pursuing any and all criminal and civil avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions,” he said in a statement to Billboard.
He added,
“We are also exploring holding the location responsible for their apparent lack of appropriate security.”
