As anticipation continues to build around Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s highly anticipated wedding, new reports suggest one familiar face won’t be on the guest list.

According to multiple sources who spoke with Us Weekly, Blake Lively—once considered one of Swift’s closest friends—was not invited to the couple’s upcoming nuptials. The reported decision comes months after the longtime friendship appeared to cool following Lively’s highly publicised legal battle with her It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni, a case that unexpectedly drew Swift into the spotlight.

“Blake understands why she wouldn’t be invited and that it would be a media frenzy,” an insider exclusively tells Us Weekly. “She also understands that she and Taylor don’t have the same level of friendship they once had. She isn’t upset about not being invited, but of course, she would love to be there to support her and Travis.”

For years, Swift and Lively were regularly seen together at holidays, parties and NFL games, with fans celebrating their close-knit friendship. But that dynamic reportedly shifted after Swift’s name surfaced during the legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni.

The actress and filmmaker recently reached an out-of-court settlement, bringing an 18-month legal battle to a close. While the case itself has now been resolved, reports suggest the personal impact on Swift and Lively’s friendship has lingered.

According to the insider, Lively has accepted where things stand today.

The source says the actress is “at peace” with how things “played out” between her and Swift, adding that the Gossip Girl alum has “put that chapter behind her.”

Even so, the two are reportedly no longer in regular contact.

“They haven’t been in touch in several months, and their last correspondence was only a few casual texts back and forth,” the insider concludes. “That is the extent of their friendship.”

The reported distance follows months of speculation surrounding Swift’s involvement in the highly publicised legal proceedings.

The dispute began in December 2024, when Lively filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni following their work together on It Ends With Us. Baldoni denied the allegations and later filed a countersuit against Lively, which was dismissed in 2025 before both parties ultimately reached a settlement earlier this month.

Throughout the proceedings, personal text messages involving Swift became public, something sources previously said was particularly difficult for the Grammy winner.

“Having her texts out there made her feel exposed and kind of violated, like, something private suddenly wasn’t hers anymore,” the source shared. “That doesn’t sit well with her.”

As public interest in the case intensified, Lively’s legal team maintained that the singer had never been intended to become part of the dispute.

Lively’s lawyer Sigrid McCawley said in January that the actress has “done everything she can to protect her friends from not being brought into this.”

“It was the Baldoni parties who brought that evidence into this case. It’s not relevant. What’s relevant is her claims that she was sexually harassed in the workplace and the witnesses are there to see that,” he said at the time. (Baldoni denied the sexual harassment allegations and filed a countersuit against Lively, which was dismissed in 2025.)

Now, attention has shifted from the courtroom to Swift’s next major life milestone.

The singer and Kelce, who began dating in the summer of 2023, announced their engagement last August after one of pop culture’s most closely followed romances. While the couple have remained largely private about their wedding plans, speculation surrounding the ceremony continues to grow.

Neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed a wedding date or venue, but rumours have pointed to the upcoming Fourth of July holiday weekend as a possible timeframe.

One theory that has gained traction suggests the pair could tie the knot at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden. The speculation intensified after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to reference the wedding while speaking during a June 15 press conference.

“I am fully confident in the work of the NYPD, as well as our state partners, in delivering that safe experience,” he told reporters. “We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for the [World Cup]. We know it coincides with the Knicks’ [NBA] Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding — all happening at the same time — and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”

Despite the growing rumours, neither Swift nor Kelce has addressed the speculation publicly, leaving fans to wonder what details—if any—are accurate.
