Jessica Chastain is adding a new chapter to her already impressive résumé. The Oscar-winning actress, known for her powerhouse roles on screen, is now hitting the books at Harvard University.
At 48, Jessica has enrolled in a two-year Master’s in Public Administration program at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Hollywood star has already been spotted attending classes this summer, according to Variety, and she’s clearly ready to embrace student life again—this time with a focus on public policy.
Though she’s best known for her award-winning performances, Jessica’s no stranger to academia. She graduated from the prestigious Juilliard School in 2003 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama. And just last year, she was honored with an honorary doctorate from the institution.
Harvard describes the MPA program as being tailored for “aspiring leaders with real-world experience and graduate-level coursework in economics, public policy, or management.” The school’s website notes, “The Master in Public Administration (MPA) curriculum is flexible. You create a study plan that reflects your academic interests, focuses on your personal and professional aspirations, and integrates across disciplines.”
While she’s busy diving into lectures and coursework, Jessica isn’t slowing down professionally. She’s also set to star in several exciting new projects. She’ll appear alongside Adam Driver in a new Apple TV+ drama series titled The Dealer and is leading a spooky new horror movie called Incidents Around the House.
Balancing a graduate degree at Harvard while continuing her acting career? Only Jessica Chastain could make it look effortless.
