Jessica Simpson is getting candid about her recent split from longtime husband, Eric Johnson.
In a new interview, the 44-year-old singer reflected on how the separation has impacted her life and emotional growth.
“I’ve grown up so much. I can handle so much. Maybe I’m just meant to love a lot of people in my life,” she shared with People.
Despite the breakup, Jessica made it clear that Eric will always have a place in her life. “I don’t know why my heart gets tossed around but I’m one of the lucky ones. At least I have my children and I still have Eric. He’s still very much a part of my life and will always be,” she added.
Jessica and Eric first got together in 2010 and tied the knot in 2014. They share three children: Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5. The couple announced their separation last month, confirming the news in a joint statement.
Though it’s the end of a chapter, it’s clear that family remains Jessica’s priority, and she’s embracing this next stage of her journey with strength and grace.
