According to a report from CBC, the 47-year-old star was riding as a passenger in an SUV near St. John’s, Newfoundland when the vehicle was struck by a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary patrol car just before 1 a.m. on September 25. Hartnett had been filming a new Netflix series in the area and was reportedly heading home from set at the time of the collision.
Police confirmed that an investigation has been launched into the accident. Both Hartnett and the 59-year-old driver of his SUV were taken to the hospital with what authorities described as “minor injuries.” The officer driving the RNC vehicle was also hospitalized “as a precaution.”
While details remain limited, fans were relieved to hear that the injuries sustained were not life-threatening.
