Josh Radnor is officially embracing his newest and most meaningful role yet: dad.
The 51-year-old How I Met Your Mother actor quietly welcomed a baby boy with his wife Jordana a few months ago, sharing the news publicly for the first time on Wednesday, February 4 — and doing so in the most Josh Radnor way possible: thoughtful, tender, and deeply reflective.
“So my wife and I had a baby a few months ago (!!)” Josh wrote on Instagram, instantly delighting fans who had no idea such a major life change had taken place.
He continued with a beautifully detailed glimpse into early parenthood:
“Here’s what we know so far: His smile lights up the room. He’s super observant and thoughtful. He gets hypnotized when I play him songs on the guitar. He thinks the word ‘baba ghanoush’ is hysterical. He’s a total delight and Jordana and I are thrilled he’s here.”
Alongside the announcement, Josh shared a series of intimate photos — including a snapshot of himself smiling while holding his newborn son, an artistic image of the baby resting atop a guitar, and a tender hospital photo of Jordana cradling their son shortly after birth.
Josh also acknowledged the outpouring of support from fans, particularly listeners of his podcast:
