Julia Garner and Mark Foster are reportedly going their separate ways after more than six years of marriage.

Sources confirmed on Wednesday (July 15) that the Ozark Emmy winner and the Foster the People frontman have separated, bringing an end to one of Hollywood’s most private relationships. Neither Garner nor Foster has publicly commented on the reports, and representatives for the pair have not released any statements.

The news arrives after fans began noticing subtle signs that something may have changed. In recent weeks, Garner was photographed in both Paris and Los Angeles without her wedding ring, prompting speculation online. While celebrity relationship rumors are often just that, the latest reports suggest the couple have indeed decided to part ways.

Garner, 32, and Foster, 42, were never a couple who lived their relationship in the spotlight. Throughout their marriage, they rarely discussed one another in interviews, posted only occasional glimpses of their life together on social media, and generally kept their personal lives separate from their high-profile careers. Their approach made them something of an exception in today’s celebrity landscape, where fans often follow every milestone in real time.

Ironically, their story began thanks to social media.

Although the pair first crossed paths at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013, romance didn’t develop until years later. Garner previously shared that it was Foster who unexpectedly re-entered her orbit online.

In a 2020 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she recalled that Foster began liking several of her Instagram posts. Curious, she followed him back, which eventually led to a direct message—and the beginning of their relationship.

Things moved quickly after that. In April 2019, Foster proposed while the couple were vacationing together in Montana. Later that year, in December, they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony surrounded by family and close friends.

The last time the two were photographed together publicly dates back to October 2025, when they attended Vogue World festivities. Since then, they’ve largely stayed out of the public eye together.
