It’s official — Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are a thing!
After months of whispers, sightings, and “are they or aren’t they?” speculation, the pop superstar, 41, and the former Canadian prime minister, 53, have officially stepped into the spotlight as a couple. The pair made their public debut on Saturday, October 25, while celebrating Perry’s 41st birthday in Paris.
According to TMZ, Perry and Trudeau spent the evening at the legendary Crazy Horse cabaret. Photos from the night show the couple hand in hand, beaming as they exited the venue — a fittingly glamorous reveal for their first official outing.
The confirmation comes just weeks after Perry cheekily addressed the dating rumors during her London concert on October 13. When a fan in the audience held up a sign reading, “Katy Perry, will you marry me?” the singer couldn’t resist poking fun at her rumored love life.
“You heard I was single? That’s interesting,” Perry said with a grin. “You know you really should have asked me about 48 hours ago.” Then, with a playful shrug, she added, “He’s just a little too late…” — a clear wink that she was officially off the market.
Before that, the two had already been spotted cozying up several times. Photos of them kissing on a yacht circulated online earlier this summer, following dinner dates in Canada shortly after Trudeau was seen attending Perry’s Montreal concert in July. Witnesses said he even sang along to her hit “Firework” — a move fans quickly labeled “the ultimate meet-cute.”
The romance marks a new chapter for both stars. Perry split from actor Orlando Bloom earlier this year after nearly nine years together. The two share a daughter, Daisy Dove, and continue to co-parent amicably.
“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” their reps told Billboard in July. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
Trudeau, meanwhile, went through a very public separation from wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in August 2023. The former couple share three children and have continued to co-parent privately.
For now, Perry and Trudeau seem to be enjoying life out of the political spotlight and into the Parisian glow — proving that even the most unexpected pairings can light up the stage (and the headlines).
