Kelly Osbourne is addressing the wave of commentary surrounding her appearance at this year’s BRIT Awards.
The 41-year-old television personality attended the 2026 ceremony in London alongside her mother, Sharon Osbourne. But shortly after the event, social media lit up with speculation and criticism about Kelly’s noticeably slimmer appearance.
Rather than staying silent, Kelly took to Instagram Stories to speak directly about the conversation — and to call out what she described as a lack of empathy from critics online.
“There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something,” she began.
“Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most. None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character,” she continued.
Kelly made it clear that she’s currently navigating an incredibly difficult chapter in her life.
“I’m currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!”
The reality star’s emotional message comes months after the death of her father, legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July.
Ozzy — the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath and a towering figure in rock music — had long been at the center of the Osbourne family’s public life, from his groundbreaking music career to the family’s reality TV fame on The Osbournes.
Over the years, Kelly has been open about her journey with personal struggles, growth, and resilience. Her candid message this week reflects that same willingness to speak honestly — even when the spotlight becomes uncomfortable.
