Nikki Reed is all about sustainability—and she’s taking slow fashion to a whole new level.

The Twilight actress recently opened up on the podcast The Art of Being Well with Dr. Will Cole, where she shared that she’s been wearing, repairing, and re-wearing the same pieces of clothing for over a decade.

“I’ve got vintage pants on and they’ve got a bunch of holes,” Nikki said. “And if I were to turn around and show you my butt pockets, you would see that my mom helps me patch the back of them because I wear the same pants.”

At 37, Reed has clearly found her personal style—and it doesn’t involve fast fashion or frequent shopping. In fact, she’s been wearing the same pair of shoes for 15 years.

“I’m wearing my same shoes right now that I’ve worn for 15 years. I just got them resoled. I resole them every three years, because I wear the same shoes every day.”

Her clothing choices are far from random. Nikki shared that she carefully considers every purchase, from origin to longevity.

“Before I purchase anything at all, I think about where it’s made, how it’s made, and how long I’m going to wear it,” she explained.

That thoughtful mindset extends beyond her closet. Reed says it’s one of the reasons she and husband Ian Somerhalder have stepped back from the Hollywood spotlight.

“It’s just been so, so long,” she said. “I really am a nature gal, an animal gal. I would much rather be barefoot walking through soil than in high heels anywhere.”

From her vintage wardrobe to her rural lifestyle, Nikki’s choices reflect a deep commitment to sustainability and intentional living. And while some may raise eyebrows at a 15-year-old pair of shoes, she’s walking the walk—literally.
