Paris Jackson is opening up — candidly, vulnerably, and without filters.
In a recent vlog-style video shared to social media, the 27-year-old actress and musician revealed that she has a perforated septum — a condition she says stems from her past drug use.
“I have a really loud whistle when I breathe through my nose,” Paris explained, shining a light from her phone to demonstrate. “And that is because I have what is called a perforated septum,” she continued, adding that it’s “slightly different from a deviated septum.”
She didn’t shy away from the truth, either. “That is from what you think it’s from…don’t do drugs, kids,” she added with her trademark blunt honesty.
For Paris, the condition serves as a sobering reminder of her past. “Drugs ruined my life,” she said plainly. Yet, despite the damage, she’s not rushing into any surgical fixes. “I don’t want to get plastic surgery,” she explained, revealing that the procedure would require medications she’d rather avoid. “I’ve been sober for six years now, and I’d need to take pills to undergo the surgery — it’s just not worth it.”
Paris said she’s been living with the condition since she was 20, and while it doesn’t define her, it has made certain parts of her creative process more challenging. “It’s been a bitch while recording music in the studio,” she admitted with a wry laugh.
Her willingness to speak openly about the physical and emotional consequences of her past substance use is part of a larger pattern of transparency that’s marked her recovery journey. The singer and actress has never shied away from difficult topics — from mental health to fame to self-discovery — and her latest revelation continues that commitment to honesty.
