After weeks of speculation and endless headlines, Travis Kelce is finally talking about his engagement to Taylor Swift. The Kansas City Chiefs star used his New Heights podcast, co-hosted with his brother Jason Kelce, to address the news that had the internet buzzing.
In the latest episode, the 35-year-old tight end thanked fans, family, and friends for the outpouring of love since the announcement. “Thank you guys for the congratulations you sent out last week,” he said, referencing Jason’s shout-out at the start of the previous episode. “It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with,” Travis continued, calling the past week “exciting” and “awesome.”
Jason, never one to miss a chance for brotherly banter, admitted it felt strange yet special to call someone a fiancée. Travis agreed wholeheartedly, adding, “I felt that at the game, actually. It was my first time introducing Taylor as fiancée to a few teammates, it was pretty cool…I still get giddy. It’s exciting times. Still fresh.”
For listeners curious about popping the big question themselves, Travis shared some heartfelt advice. “Man, you gotta know your gal, or your significant other. You gotta know ‘em. And you can’t let how somebody else does it make you feel like you need to do it that way,” he explained. Jason chimed in, saying you can’t simply rely on magazines or other people’s stories: “You gotta know your person.”
Travis agreed but noted that looking at others can sometimes spark creativity. “You might be able to get some ideas from how other people did it,” he said. “It might get the creative juices flowing. I would just say know your partner, know who you’re doing it for, and do it for the right reasons, baby. Everything else will be beautiful.”
Jason then teased his younger brother about what comes next: planning the wedding. “Get ready, it’s a lot of fun,” Jason said, pointing out that choosing a venue, setting a date, and organizing everything else can be overwhelming. But Travis didn’t seem too worried—yet.
Things got playful when Jason asked a question submitted by the podcast’s team, Jake and Brandon: “Are they invited to the Bachelor party?” Travis laughed it off, replying, “How do you even know there’s a Bachelor party coming? I haven’t thought it about it one second.”
For now, the NFL star seems content just enjoying this new chapter with Swift. Between football season and wedding planning, it looks like 2025 will be a whirlwind year for the couple everyone can’t stop talking about.
