Authorities in Los Angeles have arrested a woman after multiple gunshots were reportedly fired toward Rihanna’s Beverly Hills property over the weekend.

The incident, which police say occurred Sunday afternoon, is now being investigated as a serious criminal matter, with the suspect charged with attempted murder.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 1:20 p.m. local time. Investigators later determined that several shots — between five and seven — had been fired in the direction of the property. The bullets struck the home’s exterior gate but did not reach the residence itself.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Police confirmed that individuals were inside the home at the time of the incident. A suspect, described as a woman in her 30s, was located shortly afterward and taken into custody.

“A woman in her 30s was ‘located and taken into custody without further incident,’ police added.”

Authorities later identified the suspect as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, who has now been formally charged with attempted murder. She is currently being held on $10.2 million bail.

The case is being handled by the LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division, which investigates high-profile and violent crimes.

A spokesperson for the department confirmed that officers initially responded to a report of gunfire at the property earlier in the afternoon.

A representative for the Los Angeles Police Department told PEOPLE that officers responded to a report of “shots fired” at the residence at around 1:15 p.m. local time on Sunday, March 8. A suspect was located and taken into custody without incident, and a weapon was recovered.

Officials also emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing.

“No injuries were reported,” the spokesperson added, noting, “This is an active LAPD Robbery Homicide Division investigation.”

According to reporting from the Los Angeles Times, the suspect allegedly fired multiple rounds from inside a vehicle parked near the property. Police Sgt. Jonathan de Vera told the outlet that the shots came from a white Tesla positioned across the street from the residence.

Radio dispatch recordings obtained by the newspaper reportedly suggested that as many as ten shots may have been fired before the vehicle left the scene.

At the time of the incident, Rihanna was reportedly at home.

A source confirmed to PEOPLE that the global superstar shares the property with her longtime partner A$AP Rocky and their three children: sons RZA, 3½, Riot, 2½, and their six-month-old daughter Rocki.

Despite the frightening circumstances, the same source told the outlet that Rihanna is “okay.”

The singer, entrepreneur, and fashion mogul has largely kept her family life private in recent years, focusing on motherhood alongside her growing business empire and occasional music appearances. She and A$AP Rocky welcomed their third child last September, after Rihanna famously revealed her pregnancy at the Met Gala earlier in the year.

Representatives for the artist have not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident.

For now, investigators continue working to determine the motive behind the alleged shooting.
