Rebecca Ferguson is lifting the curtain on a distressing encounter she had with a “total idiot” co-star, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. The revelation unfolded during her appearance on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, where the actress shared a harrowing experience with a fellow actor who, despite being a major star, displayed unprofessional behavior on set.

Recalling the incident, Ferguson expressed her vulnerability, recounting how the co-star, wrapped up in insecurity and anger due to struggling with scenes, directed their frustrations at her. “I remember there was a moment and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out.”

The lack of a safety net, compounded by the co-star’s position as number one on the call sheet, left Ferguson without the support she needed. “And I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at. But because this person was number one on a call sheet, there was no safety net for me. So no one had my back.”

The impact of the emotional turmoil was evident as she admitted, “I would cry walking off set.”

The co-star’s verbal attacks were particularly harsh, with remarks like “You call yourself an actor?” and “This is what I have to work with?” leaving Ferguson emotionally shattered. “I stood there just breaking,” she revealed, shedding light on the toll such unprofessional behavior can take on an actor’s mental well-being.

Taking a courageous stand, Ferguson decided to confront the situation head-on the following day. She recounted, “The next day I walked on and I said, ‘You get off my set.’ It was the first time I’d ever spoken [back to that person]. I was so scared. And I looked at this person and said ‘You can f-ck off.’” Her bold response demonstrated her refusal to tolerate mistreatment, asserting her right to a safe and respectful working environment.

In an attempt to preserve anonymity, Ferguson clarified that the problematic co-star was neither Tom Cruise nor Hugh Jackman. Addressing speculation, she emphasized, “Doesn’t matter who it is. [I’m] gonna try and not give this away.” She ruled out Tom Cruise, with whom she collaborated on the Mission: Impossible films, and Hugh Jackman, her co-star in The Greatest Showman, in an effort to maintain a sense of mystery surrounding the identity of the actor in question.

The actress acknowledged the curiosity surrounding the incident, emphasizing that the unsettling encounter occurred within the last 10 or 12 years during a film project. Despite the challenges she faced, Ferguson’s willingness to share her experience serves as a reminder of the importance of creating a supportive and respectful atmosphere within the entertainment industry. As fans and industry insiders speculate about the identity of the co-star, Ferguson’s revelations prompt reflection on the need for professionalism and empathy on and off the set.
