Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth are calling it quits on their marriage.
The 47-year-old actress and her 52-year-old partner both released a statement announcing their divorce. The sad news was released just two days before what would have been the pair’s 12th wedding anniversary.
The statement reads:
“We have some personal news to share. It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce.
We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”
They went on to say:
‘Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family s we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal.
We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.”
Reese and Jim share a son, 10-year-old Tennessee. Reese is also mom to two kids from her previous relationship with Ryan Phillippe – Ave, 23, and Deacon, 19.
A source has said to outlets that Reese and Jim remain “the best of friends” and that the decision was made together, adding:
“They are so committed to co-parenting together. They are invested in their whole family and making this as smooth as possible for everyone.”
